Making the connection between Church and Community
Pastor Mark and Heather:
Mark was born in Florida and his family made their final move to Michigan when he was eleven years old. He grew up in the Battle Creek area and has lived in other areas of Michigan, as well. Mark got his call to ministry in 2007, as he would say late in his life. Mark met his wife Heather in late 2007 in a bible class at church. He knew it was love at first sight, Mark says he knew but she did not. They were married in 2009 and between the two they have four children and five grandchildren. Mark has served in many ministries throughout their thirteen years of marriage. Mark’s ministry experience includes: jail ministry, Motor Racing Outreach with Nascar, evangelist with Sons of Thunder national strength team, youth pastor, associate pastor, and lead pastor. Mark’s passion is not just to serve in the church but also with his feet on the ground serving people. Mark and Heather sold their home and moved to the Big Rapids community in 2021. If you look you may find him around town where he likes to be, sharing Christ’s love with everyone he encounters.
Heather grew up in the Sparta-Rockford area and graduated from Sparta High School. She grew up attending church when she was little through high school. She knew about Jesus at a young age but after graduating, stepped away from church. After a life changing event in her early thirties, Heather re-committed her life to Jesus. At that time, she learned what having a true relationship with God really was. She learned who she was in Christ and just how much He loved her. She was baptized in 2007 and life has never been the same. She has been in ministry alongside her husband, Pastor Mark, for the last twelve years. They have been married for thirteen years, have four children and five grandchildren. She has served as a youth leader, prayer group leader and church board member.
Heather’s favorite verses are; Jeremiah 29:12-13 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
